What does bedding cleaning at home cover?
Sheets and pillowcases are changed and washed often. Pillow inners, duvet inners and mattress protectors rarely are, because they are bulky and slow to dry. Over time sweat, skin flakes, fine dust and dust mites build up in the filling, next to your face every night.
UpClean concentrates on that harder part. Pillow and duvet inners and mattress protectors are cleaned in your home with a vacuum fitted with a fine-dust filter and, where the material allows, with steam equipment. If you ask, sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers are washed in your own washing machine according to their labels. The mattress has its own procedure, described on the mattress cleaning page, and can be booked into the same visit.
Everything is done in your home; at present UpClean does not collect bedding to wash and return. For a thick duvet, a down duvet or anything that needs a full soak, the Up specialist, our trained and identity-verified cleaner, advises on suitable care from the label.
How much does bedding cleaning cost in Ho Chi Minh City?
Cleaning at home costs 70,000 VND for a pillow, 150,000 VND for a single duvet and 390,000 VND for a full set for one bed. Each price covers vacuuming, steaming and deodorising, and the minimum per visit is 390,000 VND. Booked together with mattress cleaning, the bedding part of the visit is 20% off.
Send photos of the bedding and its care labels so the specialist can confirm how each item will be treated. The all-inclusive quote then lists every item and task, and nothing is added without your written agreement. Four things shape it: the number of beds and items, where several items on one bed are better taken as a set; the material, since down, silk and memory foam need more careful handling and more time than synthetic filling; the condition, as old sweat stains, drink stains and a damp smell need spot treatment; and any extra task, such as washing the sheets and pillowcases in your machine.
| Item | Price at home |
|---|---|
| Pillow | 70,000 VND each. |
| Single duvet | 150,000 VND. |
| Double duvet | 200,000 VND. |
| Mattress protector | 80,000 VND. |
| Full set for one bed: 2 pillows, 1 duvet, 1 mattress protector | 390,000 VND per set. |
| Booked with mattress cleaning | 20% off the bedding; the mattress is charged from the mattress cleaning price list. |
Which pillows and duvets can be cleaned at home?
Each material reacts differently to water, heat and suction, so the specialist reads the care label before starting. For an item with no label, or one marked dry-clean only, the specialist proposes the most cautious treatment or recommends a dry cleaner.
| Material | How it is cleaned at home |
|---|---|
| Synthetic-fill pillows and duvets | Vacuumed in several passes, steam cleaned, spot-treated for stains, then aired until dry. |
| Memory foam and latex pillows | Never soaked, and no direct steam on the core. Vacuumed only, with the casing wiped and the removable pillowcase washed. |
| Down pillows and duvets | The casing is vacuumed lightly and marks are spot-cleaned with as little moisture as possible; the down filling is not wetted. |
| Silk and wool duvets | Light vacuuming only: no steam, no scrubbing. A deep clean follows the label at a dry cleaner. |
| Mattress protectors | Plain fabric: machine-washed according to the label. With a waterproof layer: a gentle wash and no high-heat drying. |
| Bead, buckwheat-hull and herbal pillows | The filling must stay dry. The surface is vacuumed, the pillowcase washed separately and the filling aired somewhere dry, following its instructions. |
| Electric blankets and heated pads | They contain wiring and an electrical controller, so UpClean does not clean them with steam or water; please follow the manufacturer's manual. |
Does vacuuming pillows and duvets help with dust mites?
Dust mites are very small organisms that live where it is warm and humid and where skin flakes collect: pillows, duvets and mattresses. The mites, their remains and their droppings are part of the household dust that many sensitive people react to.
Vacuuming with a fine-dust filter takes away some of the dust, skin flakes and mites that have built up at the surface, and steam, where the material allows it, helps to clean deeper. This is a hygiene measure, not a medical treatment: UpClean does not promise to remove dust mites completely and makes no claim about a kill rate. Anyone with an allergy should ask their doctor about suitable care.
What happens during a bedding cleaning visit?
The specialist arrives at the agreed time, puts on shoe covers, lays a work sheet beside the bed and photographs each item before taking off its cover. Pillow and duvet inners are laid on a clean flat surface and vacuumed on both sides in overlapping passes, with extra attention to seams and corners, where fine dust collects most.
Where the material allows, the steam head is kept moving and never held on one spot, so moisture does not go deep. Stains are treated separately, from the edge towards the centre, and blotted with a clean cloth. The bedding is then spread out somewhere airy, away from strong sun for materials that discolour easily.
While it dries, the specialist vacuums the bed frame, the headboard and under the bed within reach and, if you ask, washes the sheets just taken off in your washing machine. The visit ends when the bed is made up with the clean sheets you have set out and you have your Up Report, the photo report sent by WhatsApp or Zalo after every visit, with before-and-after pictures and advice on drying and storage.
Should you wash pillows and duvets yourself or book a service?
Sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers and most mattress protectors can be washed in a home washing machine by following the label. The difficulty is the inners: they are bulky, the filling clumps when soaked, they dry slowly in an apartment with little sun, and filling left damp inside can start to smell.
A service makes sense when a household has several beds, when the inners have gone a long time without cleaning, or when you want bedding and mattress done together so the whole bed is evenly clean after one visit. If you do it yourself, read the label carefully, choose a gentle cycle, spin well and dry the item completely before using it again.
How often should sheets, pillows and duvets be washed?
The intervals in the table are for ordinary use. Shorten them in a home with young children, older people, anyone sensitive to dust, or pets.
Between cleans, a few habits keep bedding fresh for longer. Use pillowcases, duvet covers and a mattress protector so the inners have less direct contact with sweat and skin flakes. Open the windows and curtains to air the bedroom, and let the duvet air for a while before folding it. Avoid eating and drinking in bed, and blot any spill at once with a clean cloth. In the rainy season keep the room dry, with a dehumidifier or the aircon's dry mode if needed. Do not let pets lie directly on pillow or duvet inners.
| Item | How often |
|---|---|
| Sheets and pillowcases | Change and wash every week. |
| Duvet cover | Every 1–2 weeks, depending on the season and how it is used. |
| Pillow and duvet inners | A deep clean every few months, ideally on the same schedule as the mattress. |
| Mattress protector | Once a month, or straight away after a spill. |
| Time for a new pillow | When the pillow is flat or lumpy and no longer springs back after a light pat. |
