Which home appliances do you clean?
Alongside the aircon, the fridge and the washing machine, a home runs many smaller appliances every day, in the bathroom, the bedrooms and the kitchen. Dust, limescale and grease build up over time and leave them less effective and less hygienic, and few households have the time to take them apart and clean them properly.
UpClean brings these appliances into one visit, with the scope agreed for each of them beforehand. The Up specialist, our trained and identity-verified cleaner, cleans what can be reached safely and does no electrical work or repairs.
- Hot water
- Storage water heaters with a tank, and instant water heaters fitted in the bathroom.
- Cooling and air movement
- Standing, desk, tower, wall-mounted and ceiling fans.
- Air treatment
- Air purifiers, dehumidifiers and tank-type humidifiers.
- Kitchen
- Microwaves, freestanding and built-in ovens, and air fryers.

How much does home appliance cleaning cost in Ho Chi Minh City?
Each appliance has an all-inclusive price, from 120,000 VND for a standing fan to 500,000 VND for a built-in oven, and the minimum per visit is 500,000 VND. Book in the same appointment as aircon or washing machine cleaning and that minimum is waived, so a single fan or microwave is charged at its own price.
Storage and instant water heaters, and any appliance not in the table, are quoted after a free photo survey, because where they are installed and how safely they can be reached differ so much from one home to the next. The scope stays the same: the outside of the appliance, accessories that come off by hand and filters you supply, with no repairs and no electrical connection.
Dry dust, old limescale and burnt-on grease each take a different amount of time, and the expected duration is written in the quote. The quote lists every appliance and task, and nothing is added without your written agreement.
| Appliance | Price per unit |
|---|---|
| Standing, desk or tower fan | 120,000 VND. |
| Ceiling fan | 250,000 VND. |
| Air purifier | 350,000 VND. |
| Dehumidifier | 300,000 VND. |
| Microwave | 350,000 VND. |
| Freestanding oven | 400,000 VND. |
| Built-in oven | 500,000 VND. |
| Appliance mounted high, above a false ceiling or in a tight space | 100,000 VND extra per unit, for the added handling and protection. |
| Storage or instant water heater | Quoted after a free photo survey. |
Water heater cleaning: what is done and what is not?
Heated tap water leaves mineral scale, which settles at the bottom of a storage tank and clings to the shower head, the tap and the inlet filter. Where a storage heater has a drain valve, the specialist can flush the sediment out of the tank following the manufacturer's instructions, once the power is off and the water inside has cooled, to avoid any risk of scalding.
Removing the flange, the heating element or the magnesium anode rod, or connecting wiring, is electrical work, and UpClean does not do it. If the specialist sees a water leak, rust, damaged wiring or the earth-leakage breaker tripping abnormally, the work stops, photos are taken and you are asked to contact the manufacturer's service centre or a qualified electrician.
- Storage heater with a tank
- Casing and bracket wiped; sediment flushed through the drain valve where one is fitted and the position allows; water connections checked by eye.
- Instant water heater
- Casing wiped; limescale removed from the shower head, hose, tap and inlet filter where it comes off by hand. The cover of the unit is not opened.
- Heater above a false ceiling or mounted high
- Only where there is a way in and a safe place for the ladder. We survey from photos first and may decline if safety cannot be assured.
How are fans, air purifiers and dehumidifiers cleaned?
Standing and desk fans have the guard and blades taken off and washed separately. The body and vents are wiped with a damp, well-wrung cloth, and no water is sprayed on the motor. Tower fans, with their narrow vents, are cleaned with a soft brush and a vacuum. Ceiling fans have the blades and light cover wiped in place; the fan is not taken down from its hook.
On an air purifier the specialist cleans the casing, the intake and outlet vents and the pre-filter. HEPA and activated-carbon filters are usually not to be washed with water, and UpClean replaces one only when you have the correct filter for your model ready. On a dehumidifier the water tank, the filter and the casing are cleaned; the refrigeration system inside is not opened.
How are microwaves and ovens cleaned without harming the enamel lining?
An oven with grease-absorbing panels or a special enamel coating is treated as the manufacturer's label instructs, with no metal scourers and no corrosive products. In any oven, the trays, racks and shelf supports are soaked and scrubbed separately, and the cavity and door glass are cleaned with tools that do not scratch.
In a microwave, grease in the cavity is softened with warm steam and a product that is permitted for sale and suits the surface, then wiped away, along with the turntable, its spindle and the door seal. The casing of a microwave is never removed, because there are high-voltage components inside, even after it has been unplugged.
How often should home appliances be cleaned?
The intervals below are a guide for ordinary use in Ho Chi Minh City. The instructions in each appliance's manual always take priority.
| Appliance | How often |
|---|---|
| Storage and instant water heaters | About once a year; sooner if the water carries a lot of scale or the shower head blocks quickly. |
| Fans of all types | Every 2–3 months in regular use, and before a fan is put away for the season when it is little used. |
| Air fryer | Wash the basket and tray after each use. Wipe the cavity and the guard above it when grease shows, always with the appliance fully cooled. |
| Air purifier | Pre-filter when the machine prompts, usually every few weeks; HEPA filter replaced as the manufacturer recommends. |
| Dehumidifier | Empty and rinse the tank often; clean thoroughly each season, above all in the rainy season. |
| Microwave and oven | A quick wipe after use, and a deep clean every few months, depending on how often you cook. |
Should you clean appliances yourself or book a specialist?
You can wipe a fan, clean a microwave or rinse a purifier's pre-filter yourself by following the manual. A service makes sense when there are several appliances to do at once, when they have gone a long time without care, or when you want the work done tidily, recorded in photos and without disturbing the household.
Stop doing it yourself when the dirt can only be reached by opening the casing, when an appliance smells of burning or leaks current or water, or when a water heater hangs where you would have to stand on the toilet or the bath to reach it. At that point the safety of the people in the home matters more than cleanliness, and a technical check belongs with a qualified service.
Whoever does the work, the rules are the same: unplug before wiping, never spray water on a motor or a circuit board, never open the casing, and let a water heater cool completely before touching the pipes.
Which areas do you cover, and can I book in English?
Up specialists work regularly in An Khanh ward (Sala, Thu Thiem, Thao Dien), Binh Trung, Phu My Hung (Tan My and Tan Hung wards), Thanh My Tay, Cat Lai, former Districts 1, 3 and 4, former Phu Nhuan and Nha Be commune, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day of the week. A ward is the local unit that replaced the city's districts in July 2025; the old district names are kept here because people still search by them. Bookings are also taken in Districts 5, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu and former District 9, with the appointment confirmed when you book.
Send photos of each appliance, its label and where it is installed by WhatsApp or Zalo to 0773 521 104. The quote, the booking confirmation and the Up Report, the photo report sent after every visit, can all be in English.
