How much does mattress cleaning cost in Ho Chi Minh City?
Mattress cleaning is priced by the width of the mattress: 350,000 VND for a single under 1.4 m, 450,000 VND for a 1.6 m queen and 550,000 VND for a king of 1.8–2 m. That is the all-inclusive price for one side. Two options can be added, and the table works out the usual combinations.
Cleaning both sides (add 120,000 VND) suits a mattress designed to be flipped; if the underside is never slept on, the top and the borders are usually enough. Intensive dust-mite treatment (add 100,000 VND) is worth considering when the home has a small child, a grandparent or anyone who tends to sneeze in bed.
| Mattress size | All-inclusive price |
|---|---|
| Single, under 1.4 m (1 m or 1.2 m wide) | One side 350,000 VND, or 450,000 VND with dust-mite treatment. Both sides 470,000 VND, or 570,000 VND with dust-mite treatment. |
| Queen, 1.6 m | One side 450,000 VND, or 550,000 VND with dust-mite treatment. Both sides 570,000 VND, or 670,000 VND with dust-mite treatment. |
| King, 1.8–2 m | One side 550,000 VND, or 650,000 VND with dust-mite treatment. Both sides 670,000 VND, or 770,000 VND with dust-mite treatment. |
| Topper | Quoted from the actual size before the booking is confirmed; cleaned in place by the low-moisture method. |
| Example: two-bedroom apartment | A 1.8 m mattress in the main bedroom, both sides with dust-mite treatment (770,000 VND), and a child's 1.2 m mattress, one side with dust-mite treatment (450,000 VND): 1,220,000 VND in total. |
Spring, latex, memory foam or hybrid: how is each mattress cleaned?
Water, heat and pressure affect each mattress core in a different way, so the Up specialist (an identity-verified cleaner trained to the Up Standard) identifies the construction before choosing a method. In every case the core is kept dry and the work concentrates on the cover and the surface, where sweat, skin flakes and dust collect most.
| Mattress type | How it is cleaned |
|---|---|
| Spring | Inside are a steel frame and several thin padded layers, and moisture that gets deep is very slow to leave. The solution is sprayed thinly and extracted at once, and the air vents on the side panels are cleaned with care. |
| Natural latex | Resilient, but high heat and direct sun age the surface. Low moisture only, with no hot air and no drying lamps. |
| Memory foam and other soft foams | Foam takes up liquid like a sponge and recovers slowly after being compressed. It is handled lightly, with no leaning on the surface, so that it does not dent. |
| Hybrid | Springs with a layer of foam or latex on top; the precautions for each layer are applied together. |
| Topper | Thin and light, so it dries faster than the mattress. Feather and cotton-filled toppers clump when wet; send a photo so it can be assessed first. |
| Pressed cotton and folding mattresses | The filling is tightly compressed and there are many joins, so moisture escapes slowly. We look at photos of the mattress and its label before confirming whether we can take it. |
How long does a mattress take to dry?
A mattress needs 6–8 hours to dry after cleaning, sooner or later depending on the material and how well the room is aired. The cleaning itself takes about 45–60 minutes per side. These steps have the mattress ready by bedtime:
- Book a morning slot, so the mattress has the whole afternoon to dry.
- Run the aircon in Dry mode, or open the windows and set a fan to blow across the surface.
- Hold off on sheets, the mattress protector and the duvet while the surface is still damp.
- Do not use a hairdryer or a heater, and do not carry a latex or foam mattress into the sun to speed things up.
- Rest your palm on the mattress for a few minutes: when it no longer feels cool and damp, it is ready.
Dust mites and humidity: why clean a mattress regularly?
Dust mites are too small to see and live on the skin flakes the body sheds every night. They favour warmth and humidity, which a tropical climate and hours of body heat in bed provide for most of the year. In sensitive people, the dust they leave can cause sneezing and an itchy nose.
Cleaning does not sterilise a mattress, and mites build up again over time. It reduces the dust, skin flakes and sweat they live on, and the effect lasts longer with these habits:
- Wash sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers every week, in warm water if the label allows.
- Use a washable mattress protector and wash it with the sheets.
- Open the windows and curtains in the morning to air the bedroom; in the rainy season, run the aircon in Dry mode or use a dehumidifier.
- Keep the mattress on a slatted base, not directly on a tiled floor.
- Limit how often pets sleep on the mattress.
Can yellow stains, urine, blood and mould be removed from a mattress?
Some stains come out fully and some only fade. The specialist tells you which to expect before starting, and the table summarises the usual results.
| Problem | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Yellowing from sweat | It forms slowly over many months. After cleaning, the fabric is visibly brighter; old rings usually fade and seldom disappear completely. |
| Urine | The sooner it is treated, the better. What remains depends on how much liquid reached the core. |
| Blood | Blot with a cloth dipped in cold water, never hot: heat sets the stain into the fibres. Fresh marks usually come out; old ones may leave a pale ring. |
| Drinks and milk | Blot dry from the edge towards the centre. Old milk turns sour, so tell us where the stain is when you book. |
| Mould spots | A sign that the mattress has been damp for a long time. Spots on the cover can be cleaned and faded. If mould has spread into the core, surface cleaning cannot deal with the source; the specialist looks at photos and advises plainly, including when replacing the mattress is the more sensible choice. |
Why does my mattress smell, and can the odour be removed?
Mattress odour usually has one of three sources: sweat and body oils built up in the cover over months; liquid such as urine, milk or a drink that has soaked into the padding; and damp held in the core during the rainy season. Fabric spray masks the smell for a few hours and puts more moisture into the mattress.
During a clean, the specialist vacuums in several passes, treats the affected area separately, then spray-extracts to draw the dirt out of the cover and remove the moisture at once. Surface odours usually drop noticeably after one clean. A smell that reached the core long ago, old urine above all, may linger faintly, and that is recorded honestly in your Up Report, the photo report sent by WhatsApp or Zalo after every visit.
What is included in the mattress cleaning price?
- Size, mattress type and options confirmed from your photos; the specialist's name and photo sent before the visit.
- Bed frame and floor protected, the mattress photographed as we find it, and several vacuum passes before any wet cleaning.
- Solution and water matched to the mattress core, with the dirty water recovered at once by the extraction machine.
- A walk-through with you, then the Up Report with before-and-after photos and drying advice.
- A free re-clean of any item that falls short, if you reply within 48 hours of receiving the Up Report.
- Payment after the walk-through, by bank transfer or cash; a VAT invoice is issued on request.
How often should a mattress be cleaned, and what can I do myself?
About every six months suits most households. You can do much of the upkeep yourself; leave anything that needs a lot of water or chemicals to a specialist, because damp held in the core is a common cause of odour and mould spots.
- Do: vacuum the surface and the borders once a month; turn the mattress head to foot every few months, and flip it if it is made to be slept on both sides.
- Do: strip the bed and air the mattress for a few hours on dry days; blot any spill at once with a dry cloth.
- Avoid: pouring water or scrubbing soap straight onto the mattress, using bleach, or spraying a lot of fragrance to cover a smell.
- Avoid: folding a latex or foam mattress in half, or leaving it in strong sun.
| Situation | Suggested interval |
|---|---|
| Most households | About every 6 months. |
| Young children or someone sensitive to dust | Every 3–4 months, preferably with dust-mite treatment. |
| Guest-room mattress, little used | Before relatives come to stay, or when it smells damp. |
| Furnished rental | At each change of tenant, before handover to the next one. |
| A check you can do at home | Strip the bed and look in daylight. Stain rings, a smell when your face is close to the surface, or dust rising when you pat it are all signals to book. |
