What does garden maintenance include?
Garden maintenance is a set of jobs repeated on a schedule so that the garden keeps the look it had when it was finished. After a free survey UpClean draws up a checklist for your property alone, built from the items below according to the condition of the garden and what you want done.
The work is done by Up specialists, UpClean staff who are identity-verified and trained to the Up Standard. After every visit you receive an Up Report by WhatsApp or Zalo: before-and-after photos, the tasks completed and anything that needs your decision, such as a diseased plant or a leaking irrigation line.

How often does a villa garden need maintenance in Saigon?
No single interval holds for the whole year. Ho Chi Minh City has a distinct rainy season and dry season, and the schedule shifts between them. The table is a general guide; the frequency for your garden is proposed after the survey.

How much does garden maintenance or lawn mowing cost?
UpClean has no standard rate for gardens and no price per square metre for mowing, because two gardens of the same size can involve very different amounts of work. The on-site survey is free, and for a small garden you can send photos or a video by WhatsApp or Zalo for an initial estimate. The written all-inclusive quote then states the tasks, the frequency and the price per visit or per month, and it changes only with your written agreement.

Villa gardens, compounds and office grounds: how does the service differ?
A villa garden is usually moderate in size and full of detail: valuable ornamental plants, seasonal flower beds, a koi pond beside the terrace. Owners care about thoroughness, privacy and a team that does not disturb the household. Up specialists therefore work in the time slot the family chooses, screen the terrace while the lawn is mown, and put pots and garden furniture back where they stood.
The grounds of an apartment building, a residential compound or an office call for regularity and oversight: large lawns, planting along internal roads, lobby planters, plants in corridors. UpClean takes regular maintenance contracts from building managers and companies, with weekly and monthly task lists, a photo report after each round of work and VAT invoices. Work is scheduled for the hours with the fewest people about, and areas being mown or pruned are marked off with temporary signs.
How is a koi pond or garden water feature cleaned?
The safety of the fish comes first, because a koi pond is a small ecosystem. Before the visit the specialist agrees with you how far the cleaning goes: skimming leaves, brushing algae and cleaning the filter chamber with the fish still in the pond, or lowering the water level to deal with sediment on the floor. If the fish have to be moved, the temporary holding arrangements (the container, the water source, aeration and how long they stay there) are discussed with the pond owner, who makes the final decision.
The work is mechanical cleaning: algae on the walls, rotting leaves, sediment on the floor as far as it can be reached, pump baskets, and filter wool and filter media handled as the owner instructs. Rock features, waterfalls and fountains are scrubbed and the flow is checked. UpClean gives no commitment on water-quality readings or on the health of the fish, since both depend on the stocking density, the feed, the filter system and the water source of each pond. Repairs to pumps and underwater lighting are outside the service.

Why is my lawn turning yellow or dying in patches?
The usual causes are water standing in low spots after rain, too little sun under large trees, compacted soil, mowing too low, shortcuts worn across the grass and too little water in the dry season. A natural lawn is the part of a garden that deteriorates most easily in Ho Chi Minh City.
Within a maintenance schedule the specialist finds the cause before patching, so that the new grass does not die in the same place. The dead area is raked out, the topsoil improved and the patch replanted with the variety already in the lawn, so that the colour matches. Laying a new lawn over a large area, changing the grass variety or reworking the layout belongs to our garden design and build service.

Do you use pesticides in the garden, and what are the safety limits?
- Hand weeding comes first. A plant-protection product is used only when needed and with your agreement, only if it is legally permitted, and at the recommended dose. You are told when spraying will take place and how long to stay out of the area. Nothing is sprayed near a fish pond.
- Mowers and hedge trimmers run only once children and pets are out of the work area. Loose stones and hard objects are picked up before mowing.
- Trees on the pavement or on public land are urban trees managed by the competent authority. UpClean looks after plants inside the client's own property only.
- Branches near power lines are not cut on our own initiative. We explain how to contact the electricity company so that the work can be coordinated.
- Work at height uses a stable ladder, safety lines and protective equipment. A position that cannot be made safe is reported to you and left alone.

Do I need a garden service, and which areas do you cover?
A small garden with few plants, and an owner who has the time and enjoys the work, does not need one; we are glad to advise on a watering and feeding schedule during the survey. A maintenance service fits better when the grounds are large, when there are tall trees or a koi pond, or when the household is often away. What you need then is regularity and one party clearly responsible. While you are away, visits go ahead if someone can open the gate or access has been handed over as agreed, and the Up Report lets you follow the garden from a distance.
The landscape team works regularly in An Khanh ward (Sala, Thu Thiem, Thao Dien), Binh Trung, Cat Lai, Phu My Hung (Tan My and Tan Hung wards), Thanh My Tay (Binh Thanh), the former Districts 1, 3 and 4, the former Phu Nhuan and Nha Be commune. Bookings are also accepted in Districts 5, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu and the former District 9, with the appointment confirmed when you book. The city replaced its districts with wards on 1 July 2025, but most people still use the district names.
