How much does curtain cleaning cost?
The cost has three parts: the total curtain area multiplied by 40,000 VND per m²; 100,000 VND for taking the curtains down and re-hanging them, charged once per visit if you choose it; and a minimum of 400,000 VND per visit. The areas in the table are estimates. At your home the Up specialist measures each set, agrees the figures with you and works out the fixed price from them.
When the total falls below the minimum, for example with a single set of bedroom curtains, you can add curtains from other rooms to the same visit and make full use of the charge.

How do I measure my curtains for a quote?
A tape measure is enough for a quick estimate. Measure the width of the curtain when it is drawn across the window, measure the drop from the heading to the hem, and multiply the two. Double-layer curtains, a sheer with a blackout behind it, are measured layer by layer and added together. For deep pleats, several layers or high-mounted curtains, the specialist explains how the chargeable area is measured and agrees it with you at your home.
When you ask for a quote, send a photo of each window, the rough sizes and whether the curtains have one layer or two. We reply with an estimate before you book.
Below are some window sizes often found in apartments and villas on the east side of the city. The figure for each window is before the per-visit minimum; the cost of the visit is the total area of all windows multiplied by the rate.
| Window | Size, area and estimate |
|---|---|
| Bedroom window | 1.6 m × 2.4 m ≈ 3.8 m² per layer, about 152,000 VND. |
| Living-room balcony door | 3.2 m × 2.7 m ≈ 8.6 m² per layer, about 344,000 VND. |
| Floor-to-ceiling glass wall | 4.4 m × 2.8 m ≈ 12.3 m² per layer, about 492,000 VND; double it for two layers. |
| Double-height living room | 5 m × 6 m ≈ 30 m² per layer, about 1,200,000 VND; high positions are surveyed beforehand. |
What does the price include?
The per-m² rate is an all-inclusive price for the whole process; it is not split into small charges that appear on the day. Each visit includes:
- A check of the care label, a colourfastness test on a hidden corner, and advance warning of any risk of shrinking or fading.
- Measuring with you and confirming the fixed price before work starts.
- Vacuuming both sides, the heading and the pleats, then cleaning by the method chosen for that fabric, with gentle solutions.
- Tracks and hooks wiped, and the curtains steamed and the pleats set before the walk-through.
- An Up Report, the photo record sent to you by WhatsApp or Zalo, with before-and-after pictures of each set and notes on any fraying, fading or broken hooks we find.
- A free redo of any set that is not up to standard, if you tell us within 48 hours of receiving the Up Report. If the specialist arrives more than 15 minutes late, 10% is taken off the bill for that visit.
- Not included
- Taking down and re-hanging (optional, 100,000 VND per visit); repairing tracks, replacing hooks, and sewing or mending curtains.
Are curtains cleaned in place or taken down, and how long do they take to dry?
Both methods are used, depending on the fabric. Heavy, thick or hard-to-remove curtains are vacuumed thoroughly on both sides and then steam-cleaned while they hang on the track, so nothing has to be taken down or sent away. Sheers and fabrics that can be washed in water are washed gently, one set at a time, to avoid twisted fibres and shrinkage. For these, the drying method, the working time and the return time are confirmed in the quote before you book.
With either method you can add take-down and re-hang for 100,000 VND, charged once for the whole visit however many windows there are. The specialist photographs and numbers each panel by window before taking it down, so every panel goes back to the same place, the same way round and with the same pleats. If your curtains are fixed close to the ceiling or run on a motorised track, tell us when you book so that the specialist brings suitable equipment. Curtains mounted high up, as in a double-height living room, are surveyed first to arrange safe access, and the work goes ahead only when you approve the plan.
Drying time depends on the fabric, its thickness and the weather. Curtains steam-cleaned in place are usually only slightly damp and dry as the room is aired. Keep the room ventilated for a few more hours and avoid bunching the curtains together while the fabric is damp, particularly in the rainy season.
Sheers, blackout, linen, Roman blinds: how is each fabric handled?
Before starting, the specialist reads the care label and tests colourfastness on a hidden corner. Depending on the fabric, its weight and how it is fitted, each set goes one of two ways: specialist vacuuming followed by steam on the track, or a gentle wash on its own.
- Sheers
- Fine, light fibres that hold fine dust and yellow over time. Washable sheers are handled one set at a time and never wrung, so that the fabric keeps its translucency and its natural fall.
- Blackout curtains
- The back carries a sun-blocking coating that cracks when it is folded hard or rubbed. They are cleaned with a light hand; coating that was already peeling is photographed and reported to you before work starts.
- Heavy fabric curtains
- Heavy and deeply pleated, they hold dust in the heading and the hem. The usual method is thorough vacuuming on both sides, then steam cleaning while they hang, taking them down only when it is necessary.
- Linen and cotton
- Natural fibres can shrink. The specialist tells you how great the risk is and proposes a method; work starts only when you agree.
- Roman blinds
- The fabric is sewn to horizontal rods and a cord system, so they cannot be treated like ordinary hanging curtains. Send photos so that a specialist can assess them before quoting.
- Silk, brocade and embellished curtains
- Silk fibres, metallic thread and beading are assessed individually from photos and a test on a hidden corner. We accept the work only when we can identify a method that is safe for the fabric, and say so plainly when we cannot.
- Motorised tracks, roller blinds and Venetian blinds
- Motors, roller tubes and slats are built differently from hanging fabric curtains. Send photos and we will advise before you book.
How often should curtains be cleaned?
Every 6–12 months suits most rooms. The table shows where a shorter interval makes sense.
| Room or situation | Suggested interval |
|---|---|
| Living room | Every 6–12 months; every 3–6 months if the windows face a main road or there is a construction site nearby. |
| Bedroom | Every 6–12 months; consider 3–6 months if someone who sleeps there is sensitive to dust. |
| Home with pets | Every 3–6 months, because hair and odour cling to the hem near the floor. |
| Curtains near an open kitchen | They pick up cooking grease and smells. Watch the smell and the colour of the fabric; they usually need cleaning sooner than the general interval. |
| After painting or repairs | As soon as the work is finished, especially if the curtains stayed up throughout. |
How do I look after curtains between cleans?
- Vacuum them regularly with a soft brush head, moving down the folds. Do not beat or shake them hard, which sends the dust onto the furniture.
- A fresh water or coffee mark: blot it gently with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub and do not use a stain remover yourself, least of all on pale sheers or a blackout coating.
- Grease marks on curtains near the kitchen: washing-up liquid or alcohol tends to spread the mark into a patch, so leave it alone and note where it is when you book, for the specialist to assess.
- A damp smell after the rainy season: air the room more on dry days. If the smell does not ease, it is time for a clean.
- On west-facing glass, draw the blackout layer during the hours of strong sun so that sheers and furniture fade less.
- Mould and humidity in Saigon apartments

Where does UpClean clean curtains in Ho Chi Minh City?
Curtain cleaning is scheduled regularly in four areas: An Khanh and Binh Trung wards, formerly District 2; Phu My Hung, in Tan My and Tan Hung wards, formerly District 7; and Thanh My Tay, part of the former Binh Thanh district. Regular visits also cover Cat Lai, the former Districts 1, 3 and 4, the former Phu Nhuan and Nha Be. The city replaced its districts with wards on 1 July 2025, and we use both names because most people still search by district. If you live in Districts 5, 6, 8, 10, 11 or 12, Go Vap, Tan Binh, Tan Phu or the former District 9, call or message 0773 521 104 (phone, WhatsApp or Zalo); the time slot is confirmed when you book.
